La Hinchada de Velez Sarsfield is called "The Liniers Gang" since the club is located in the Liniers neighborhood. They are also nicknamed "Fortineros" since their stadium is called "El Fortin". It had approximately 56,000 socios (members) for Feb 2023. It's one of the 8 Argentine teams that have a Copa Libertadores and it's the 6th club in the country by the number of supporters. It has clásico with Club Atlético Ferrocarril del Oeste, although this rivalry lost popularity since this club has been in the 2nd division for more than 10 years.
